Three Levels of Emotional Design

Don Norman defines three levels of emotional design that are largely interconnected and have a great influence on design. Emotional design operates on three distinct levels:

1. Visceral Level:

This is the initial, instinctive reaction to a design. It involves sensory experiences, such as visual aesthetics, textures, colors, and sounds. At this level, people form immediate, often subconscious, judgments about a product based on its visual and sensory appeal.
